Chewton Glen took home a Gold and Silver award at the Beautiful South’s Awards for Excellence ceremony, held on Friday 21st October at Mercedes Benz World. The annual awards, which are organised by Tourism South East, are in their 20th year and recognise exceptional levels of customer service and dedication to raising standards in the tourism industry.
Andrew Stembridge, Managing Director of Chewton Glen accepted the Gold Award for 'Large Hotel/Townhouse of the Year', and Chewton Glen's Events Manager, Katie Burns, received the Silver Award in the 'Outstanding Customer Service' category.
Commenting on the awards, Mike Bedingfield, Chief Executive of Tourism South East said: "Our industry's commitment to providing the best possible customer service and to exceeding customer expectations is outstanding. The award winners have shown that they are truly the best-in-class and we look forward to seeing them on the national stage at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence next April.
John Williams, Chairman of Tourism South East who co-hosted the event with TV's Nicholas Owen, stressed that there was no doubt that the Awards for Excellence provided the platform to showcase the professionalism and seriousness of the tourism industry in working to influence and change opinions of decision makers. The current climate has driven more and more people to holiday at home again this year and it has never been more important to demonstrate to the consumer the quality and diversity of tourism opportunities in the South East.
