Beach Walks
There is a very pleasant walk from the Hotel to the local beaches between Highcliffe and Barton on Sea, which will take you approximately 20 minutes at a leisurely pace.

If you have a little more time you can extend your walk along the beach footpath to Highcliffe Castle, a good stopping off point for a cup of tea and a slice of home-made cake, and then continue through the woodland nature reserve to Steamer point and Avon Beach beyond, where New Forest ice creams are sold in the beach café.

If you still have time to spare it is worth walking on for a further ten minutes to Mudeford Quay, which overlooks Christchurch Bay, where you can enjoy the sight of sailing boats and pleasure craft sweeping up through the tidal channel into the Solent or sit for a while watching the local fisherman.
