Gardens & Grounds

Chewton Glen is set in 130 acres of exquisitely landscaped parkland, gardens and woodland. Head Gardener Darren Venables and his team of dedicated gardeners work hard to create seasonal displays and beautiful vistas for guests to enjoy year-around.

There are many delightful walking and jogging trails around the grounds, including one to the beach.

The grounds contain the hotel's 9 hole par 3 golf course, a practice range, two indoor and two outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool, a croquet lawn and putting green.

Croquet

During the summer months the croquet lawn is laid out in front of the bar terrace. The croquet mallets and balls are kept in the main foyer, and may be taken as and when required. If, like most people, you are unsure of the rules of croquet, we will provide you with a set of instructions. Putters and balls are available from Reception.
