Income Auditor

Financial Processing:

The Income Auditor is fully responsible to ensure that the following key processes operate in accordance with Financial SOPs, to minimise risk and provide accurate reporting:

  • Daily Income Audit is undertaken, with log competed. Revenue Flash reports are always current and circulated to the wider hotel management team, with any areas of poor performance or concern highlighted immediately 
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in forecasting and budgeting Revenue up to and including rolling 3 months, to highlight and communicate any exceptional variances to forecast 
  • Daily Reporting of allowances, adjustments and transfers to ensure current and circulated to the wider hotel management team, that any areas of poor performance are highlighted immediately
  • Audit and management of all deferred revenue ensuring a fair and accurate representation of actual revenue achieved within the month. Posting of Spa and Dining Club month end journals and undertaking a monthly audit of both membership databases to ensure integrity
  • Checking Daily Market Segments, Room Rates, Complementary / House reports match PMS expectations 
  • Checking Restaurant, Function and Spa diaries to ensure full revenue capture and recording of cover, occupancy and average spend information 
  • Checking all POS EOD has correctly interfaced into PMS. Undertaking audit of POS voids, corrections and refunds.  Ensuring no open checks or unrealised revenue 
  • Daily uploading Forecast and Actual performance into the Fourth payroll management system to ensure that productivity targets are current and clearly communicated to the wider hotel management team 
  • Responsible for voucher control and reconciliation within the unit 
  • Fully manage the Guest Ledger, checking that FOH credit reports have been undertaken. Fully manage the PM accounts and interface accounts to ensure revenue integrity and mitigate financial risk 
  • Compliance reporting in regard of operational daily tasks 
  • Supporting the implementation of a new unit wide Integrated Payment Solution (2017/2018), championing PCI compliance, and key liaison with IT Manager in regard to GDPR compliance
  • Measured through processes being completed to agreed company standards and deadlines with the Financial Controller informed of any areas of concern

People Development: 

  • Support, train and develop the Operational departmental managers in aspects of Audit Control:
  • Support the HOD team in achieving their departmental objectives / control
  • Key contact in supporting / training the operational team while championing Audit Control, reporting and control within PMS & all POS systems
  • Measured by full and current Daily Audit process related training records plan in place for each department, with each operational departmental manager demonstrating revenue capture understand within their department

Health & Safety: 

  • Participate in emergency situations, including fire and bomb incidents
  • Take reasonable care for health safety of yourself, colleagues and guests who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work
  • Ensure that the Company complies fully and at all times with its legal duties regarding health, safety and welfare matters
  • Familiarise yourself with and comply with the Company’s ‘Health and Safety’ and ‘Fire’ and ‘Bomb’ procedures 
  • Report immediately all accidents involving injury or illness to your Line Manager or Control
  • Highlight Health and Safety or maintenance issues and follow them up

Additional Responsibilities: 

  •  Attend training as relevant to role
  •  Adhere to all policies and procedures as promoted by Chewton Glen Hotel, Iconic Luxury Hotels and/or L+R
  •  Ensuring as part of a team that Finance have representation at committees (e.g. health & safety, SCCM etc.)
  •  Any other reasonable duty as requested by a member of the Hotel Management Team
