Francesco Gabriele

Director of Wine

Born into a wine-making family where his grandfather taught him to appreciate wine at a very early age, Italian born, Francesco Gabriele has a passion for good food, great wines and genuine hospitality. Educated in Rome he studied economics and accountancy, before undertaking a three-course professional course with the Italian Sommelier Association. Francesco held senior posts at several excellent restaurants in London and Italy, before joining Chewton Glen in 2013, where his excellent skills and knowledge are being harnessed to create a strong team of highly trained sommeliers, whose knowledge of wines from throughout the world is available to all.
